
Al-Taj News – The Director General of the Aqaba Company for the Management and Operation of Ports, Mahmoud Khalifat, received on Sunday a Chinese delegation representing “Sinoma” Shipping and “Nanjing” International Logistics, which relies on Aqaba Port for its commercial and logistics operations.
According to a statement by the company, Khalifat, in the presence of the company’s Operations Director Mohammed Al-Halawi, briefed the Chinese delegation on the operations of Aqaba Port, the current state and future of the port system, and the development and modernization plans that have contributed to developing Jordanian ports and enhancing their competitiveness and performance among the region’s ports.
He confirmed that cargo-handling operations at the port are proceeding in accordance with the approved operational plans, noting that a number of vessels are currently berthed at the port’s docks and that cargo-handling operations are being carried out for them.
He said that all port operations are continuing efficiently and smoothly, thanks to the readiness of the operational staff and their continued performance of their duties around the clock, in line with developments in the maritime transport and logistics sectors. He affirmed that Aqaba Port will remain a safe and suitable option for port customers and companies operating in the region.
For its part, the Chinese delegation expressed its thanks and appreciation to the company’s management for the level of services and facilities provided by the port to Chinese companies and port customers in general in cargo-handling operations, including unloading and loading.
